Thursday, June 16thToday we finished loading up and prepared to leave. David said,
“Things are not going as smoothly as it usually does.” So true. As we were leaving he noticed the brakes on the camper were not working quite right. After going about 1mile we smelled something burning. After returning home we moved everything from the camper and truck to the car, since it has better gas mileage. Understanding this could have been God’s way of protecting us somewhere on our trip from some serious situation, we left a little later than we had planned. Using “Plan B”, we are ready to go and hope that this is the worst that happens on this vacation.
We leave on a sunny, hot day. Good weather and minimal traffic make for a nice start on this journey. We found some gas at $3.47 and filled up in Marshall, TX. Watching gas prices and seeing how they fluctuate has become a common pastime as we travel.
We arrive in Little Rock, AR around 7:30 and found a newly remodeled motel where we will spend the night. A nice light supper and a refreshing shower is a good way to end our first day.
